History Of Monaco
The early history of Monaco is primarily
concerned with the protective and strategic
value of the Rock of Monaco, the area's
chief geological landmark. It served first
as a shelter for the ancient peoples and
later as a fortress. It has been part of the
country’s history post the fall of the
Roman Empire. The area was then
contested primarily for political reasons.
After the chaos, it has remained steadily
under the control of the House of
Grimaldi.
Monaco &
France

around 1215, where it was founded as a colony
of Genoa. Monaco gained control of its own
sovereignty from the French in 1419. King

Joshua’s Intercultural Personal
Monaco, what a place to be!
-
Understanding:
The hilly mountain area, the low seashores, the vast, glorious
mediterranean sea, such a magnificent place Monaco is.
- As soon as you step on the streets of Monaco, you sense this
very posh, rich vibe. Casinos, sports cars, clubs, hotels,
apartments, luxurious yachts and boats, everything is there to
see here in this miniature nation.
- It’s as if this place is where you would live the life in,
enjoying every day, whilst going out to the streets, and even
to Mediterranean sea.
- Food and cuisine here is also superb, with it being heavily
based upon French and Mediterranean cuisine.
- It’s a dream of mine to come to this glorious place, and with
some motivation to finish my studies, I pushed myself and
now am travelling the world exploring the beauties Earth has
to offer, and Monaco certainly is one.
- It may take some time to adapt to this new environment, but
I can’t anticipate and control the excitement and eagerness
that is within me, for what is to come, and will do during my
holiday time here!

scene and cultural offerings.
- The country's proximity to Italy has also led to a strong
influence from Italian cuisine and culture.
- Despite its small size, Monaco has a rich and varied cultural
scene, with world-class museums, art galleries, and cultural
events throughout the year.
- The country's famous Monte Carlo Casino is a hub for
international entertainment and luxury, attracting visitors
from all over the world.
- If I were lucky enough to be able to visit the beautiful
country of Monaco, I would be delighted to try a new cuisine
and explore the Monegasque lifestyle. This microstate is
