 To create a dynamic environment that facilitates interaction and


dialogue has always been the goal of VIT.
 VIT is having nine schools of study offering 15 Undergraduate and 30
Postgraduate programmes.
 A student is registered under each programme based upon his/her
area of interest.
 Programmes offered by each School are designed to incorporate a
blend of knowledge, skills and the right attitude. The syllabus of each
programme is revised periodically to enable students to be at par with
the needs of the industry.

CLASSROOM
TEACHING

 Qualified faculty members assigned with various


theory subjects prepare course plans using the
standard format provided by the institute with
emphasis on 'learning' of the students.
 The instructional or lecture delivery of the faculty
will be through a set of Educational Technology /
Tools opted by the faculty. The lectures lay emphasis
on the following:
 Knowledge content (topics in the curriculum)
 Utility value - application in real life

The classroom sessions are interactive and encourage the students to


think independently and inspire their creativity.
The faculty ensures that the students in the class have assimilated the
content projected.
High level of discipline will be maintained in the classroom.
The faculty members are empowered to curb any disturbance and
ensure that the time is used fruitfully. To this effect, students are
expected to maintain decorum and refrain from causing any disturbance
in the classroom.
Students are advised not to carry cell phones to the classrooms and
laboratories.

VIT has risen to the expectations of Government

Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and atomic
research centres
 It has secured sponsorship for 50 research projects to
the tune of Rs.100 million.
 VIT also offers consultancy services worth more than
Rs. 2.2 million to the Defence Research and
Development Laboratory.

VIT University has been a consistent topper for several years in the
list of campus placement records among private institutions in

Offering information, advice, guidance and support for job-
seeking students is considered a primary responsibility at the
University.

The Placement and Training Centre is provided with a well-

 Activities that foster a lifelong commitment to community


service are a regular part of VIT's outreach programmes.
The Centre for Sustainable Rural Development and
Research Studies (CSRD & RS), VIT Alumni Association
(VITAA), Youth Red Cross and NSS units of VIT are primarily
involved in providing special services to the society.

• NETWORKING ACTIVITIES
 An MoU has been signed with Young Professional's Platform for
Agricultural Research for Development (YPARD) - an
International Organization, Leibniz University of Hannover,
Germany
 An MoU with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises (MSME) represented by the Small Industries Service
Institute (SISI), aims to establish 240 Business Clubs in South
India.
 An MoU has been signed with TVS Motors for organising
vocational training programmes jointly.
 One of the recent activities is the inauguration of PMRY (Prime
Ministers Rozgar Yojana) - Entrepreneurship Training Programme
with the support of the District industries Centre, Vellore.
