whereby companies integrate social environmental concerns in
their interaction with stakeholders on a voluntary basis.”

• CSR activities enterprise builds relationships and can set up

frameworks for dialogue with other social players, especially
with its stakeholders. CSR not as mere analysis of the
consequences of isolated action, but as a valuation of the specific
relationships established between several players.

• CSR also refers to the principles, values and criteria that guide
businesses in all their dealings.
• We understand CSR not as a mere analysis of the consequences
of isolated action but as a valuation of the specific relationships
established between several players.
• In recent years, in a framework of globalization, there have
been changes in the context in which companies act. As a
result, companies are emerging not only as economic players,

GOVERNMENT ACTION IN THE FIELD PF
CSR: COMPARATIVE EVALUATION
• It was found out there are several models for approaching CSR
public policies. Every country has focused CSR on the most
appropriate social or environment issues according to it
historical trajectory, depending on the relationship that exist
between business, government and civil society stakeholders.
• CSR starts where the law ends. Efficiency, competitiveness,
paying taxes and abiding by the law is what a company has to
do and beyond that point is where CSR starts.
• CSR policies have been defined in some countries on the basis
of social issues, thus allowing CSR to be incorporated into the
national sustainability policy.
