Inspect Work
Done
• the inspection of work
relative to the welding is one
of the requirements for
production. The various
inspections are company’s
concern in order to meet the
work standards as viewed in
products and safety.
To enumerate the various inspection categories are as
follows:
• Weld Visual Inspection
• Check electrodes for size, type and storage
(low hydrogen electrodes are kept in a
stabilizing oven)
• Watch root pass for susceptibility to cracking.
• Inspect each weld pass. Look for undercut
and required contour. ...
• Check for craters that need to be filled.
• Check weld sequence and size.
Material Inspection
•The main aim of the inspection
is to prevent the production of
non-standard items. As such, an
inspection of materials is of the
utmost importance; both quality
and quantity must be checked
and inspected systematically.
Dimensional Inspection
• The most common method of inspection, visual
inspection, is omnipresent in all types of
examinations. During inspections, our inspectors
ensure that welds are free of defects in accordance
with applicable standards. They also verify that the
dimensions of the welds match the reference
drawings. In some projects, the visual inspection also
involves verifying the different dimensions of
assemblies in production. The distance between the
holes, the position of the parts, the right choice of
profiles, the straightness of beams, etc., to provide
the customer with a product quality for which he has
paid.
Non Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspection.
• Welding NDT is the use of non-destructive testing to
inspect a weld. Welds are one of the most common
parts of industrial assets that inspectors test. Using
non-destructive weld testing equipment, inspectors
can determine whether a weld is strong or has
potential defects that could compromise its integrity.
• Inspectors discharge their duties in a separate
functions and no one could be placed at any capacity
or assignment to do due to the qualifications of a
person.
