BRIEFING ON

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT


FOR GRADED STAFF
HUMAN RESOURCE ADMINISTRATION

2.1 Personal Particulars

Employee responsibility to inform HR Dept of any change of personal


particulars.

Keep updated information esp concerning your next-of-kin so that he/she


can be contacted in case of emergency.

2.2 Working Hours

Monday – Friday : 8:30 am – 5:30 pm (office)


: 7:25 am – 5:10 pm (factory)

Lunch Break : 60 minutes (office)


: 45 minutes (factory)

2.3 Probation
GRADE PROBATION PERIOD

Grades G6 – G9 6 months

Grades G1 – G5 3 months

2.4 Confirmation

Your confirmation will be advised in writing. Until and unless you are
advise in writing, you remain as a probationer

2.5 Promotion

Staff promotions are normally being assess at the end of each calendar
year except for special cases

2.6 Termination

2.7 Transfer

All staff are subject to transfer from one department to another or from
one location to another within Peninsular Malaysia

2.8 Retirement Age

Male & Female : 60 years of age


COMPENSATION

3.1 EPF Contributions

In accordance to prevailing statutory rates

3.3 Annual Salary Review

* Normally on 1st April of each year


* Based on last drawn basic salary @ 31 March
* Must be a confirmed employee @ 31 March
* Less than 1 year service - pro-rated
* Probationer – not entitled
* Employee who tendered resignation – not entitled
* Work performance below std – increment can be stopped, witheld
or deferred

3.4 Contractual Bonus

* G1 – G5 : 1.5 months pay


* Payable in Dec, based on last drawn basic salary @ 31 Dec
* Must be a confirmed employee with at least 6 months service
@ 31 December
* Less than 1 year service - pro-rated
* Terminated due to redundancy, resignation, retirement - pro-rated
* Probationer – not entitled
* Misconduct - not entitled
* Unpaid Leave – will be deducted accordingly

3.5 Performance Related Bonuses

I) Management Incentive Program

* G6 – G9 : Based on scheme upon achievement of


performance target

ii) Variable Bonus Scheme

* Company’s sole discretion


* If declared, G1 – G5 will be eligible
* Quantum – depends on company’s business performance,
group financial performance & individual performance
* Less than 1 year service – pro-rated
LEAVE ENTITLEMENT

4.1 Annual Leave • Can be carried forward up

4.2 Sick Leave

I) 22 days : if no hospitalisation
ii) 67 days : if hospitalisation

* Sick Leave in excess : Treated as Annual Leave / Unpaid Leave


* Absent on sick leave without informing
- deemed to have absent from work without permission / reasonable
excuse : breach of contract
* Within 2 days upon return to work, must produce Medical Certificate
to HOD HR Dept for record. Failure to comply – disciplinary
action can be taken against the employee

4.3 Maternity Leave

As per Employment Act

4.4 Paternity Leave

2 working days. To produce child birth certificate within two (2) days
upon returning to work

4.5 Marriage Leave

* Have to complete at least one (1) year of service


* Entitled 3 working days
* To be taken within 6 months from the registration date or wedding
ceremony date

4.6 Compassionate Leave

* Death of spouse, children, parents, parent-in-law, siblings,


grandparents & grandparents-in-law
* Must be confirmed employees
* Entitled 3 working days
* Supporting document, e.g death certificate

4.9 Leave Application Procedures

* To use eLeave applications


* Sufficient notice should be given
* Must obtain approval prior to going on leave
* Superior/Mgr is responsible to forward the supporting documents
to HR Dept for records

* Non-panel without reasonable excuse would not be

entitlement provided he/she pays the difference in ward
charges

* If exceed applicable limit, can make special written


representative to HR for recommendation to the GM for
final approval. On a case-to-case basis.

* Cosmetic treatment
* Pregnancy complications
* Self-inflicted injuries, unlawful acts, provoked assaults, etc
* Suicide attempts or social diseases injuries
* Mental treatment

* Drug addiction, alcoholism, AIDS
* Obesity, weight reduction or improvement treatment
