LINES
LINES
 Lines are one of the many elements of art and are
regarded as the most basic among all elements of art.
 It represent a single dimension – length.
 It can be straight, curvy, crooked, zigzag and others.
2 TYPES OF LINES

(1) Organic Lines


(2) Inorganic Lines
ORGANIC LINES

 These are asymmetrical and curved.


 Don’t follow the shape of any geometrical figure.
 Don’t follow any rules.
 Found in the nature.
 Express gracefulness, enthusiasm and naturalness.
INORGANIC LINES

 They are regular and follow a geometrical pattern and


a geometric shape.
 Rigid and follow certain rules.
 Used when drawing a man-made structures like a
house or a car.

COLORS
COLOR

 Another important element of art that is made


whenever light strikes on an object and is
reflected back to one’s eye.

 Gives life to everything.


3 PROPERTIES OF COLOR

 Hue
 Intensity
 Value
Hue – name of colors
Intensity – richness and colorfulness
Value – lightness and darkness of colors
PRIMARY COLORS
-are the root of every hue imaginable.
Why are they called primary colors?
o These colors can only be obtained by
using natural pigments.
o Can’t be created by mixing two other
colors.
o Parents in the family of colors.
o These three primary colors are mixed to
get secondary colors.
SECONDARY COLORS
- Mixing any two of the three primary colors produce
the secondary colors.
SECONDARY COLORS

o Think of the secondary colors as the children


in the family of colors.

o The intensity of the secondary color depends


on the proportion in which you mix the two
primary colors.
SHAPES

 An element of art that is very useful in creating


a masterpiece.
 It is formed when a line is enclosed.
 Has a two-dimensional area.
