• In 1892, Asa Griggs Candler founded the American Global Beverage Corporation by
acquiring the Pharmacist John Stith Pemberton's ownership rights in the business.
• Customers usually associate the company with its recognisable red-can or red-bottle
soda.
• However, a large number of soft drink, juice, tea, coffee, and other beverage brand
names are really owned by The Coca-Cola Company.
• The Coca-Cola Company is currently one of the biggest businesses in the US and the
biggest manufacturer, supplier, and marketer of syrups and concentrates for non-
alcoholic beverages globally.
• The corporation currently offers 400 different brands in more than 200 countries and
territories in addition to its iconic Coca-Cola beverage, offering 1.5 billion drinks daily.
Coca Cola in India
• In 1950, The Coca-Cola Company started its operations in India.
• However, they ceased operations in 1977 because they disagreed with Indian
government laws and regulations that forbade the diluting of stock in foreign
corporations.
• They made the decision to re-enter the market on October 24, 1993, and have
continued to hold a commanding position ever since.
• Along with bottlers, distributors, and retailers, its businesses provide services to
many vendor industries.
