Significance of the study
In Egypt, cardiovascular diseases deaths reached 126,312 or 24.58%
of total deaths; thus ranking Egypt as the 18 th worldwide (El-Moselhy et
al., 2018). The numbers of patients admitted to cardiac outpatient clinic
at Benha university hospital during the year 2022 were about 2400
patient (Benha university hospital statistical office, 2023).

Climate change is predicted to lead to significantly worse global

cardiovascular outcomes in years to come, including increases in
myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, heart failure and death.
(Mannakkara, 2022).
Climate change awareness helps patients comprehend and address the impact of
global warming. Furthermore, it encourages changes in their attitudes and
behavior and helps them adapt to the climate change related trends and seeking
medical emergency care (Gautam et al., 2021). So that, this study will be
conducted to evaluate the effect of awareness program on health consequence
outcomes of climate change among cardiac patients.
Aim of the study

This study aims to evaluate the effect of awareness program on health
consequence outcomes of climate change among cardiac patients.

Research hypotheses:
To fulfill the aim of the study, the following hypotheses will be formulated:
H1- Patients’ knowledge level could be significantly higher post implementation
of awareness program than before.
H2- Patients’ behaviors could be significantly higher post implementation of
awareness program than before.
H3- Patients’ health consequence outcome could be significantly improved post
implementation of awareness program.
Operational Definitions:

Awareness program: is a targeted initiative an educational program for

regain knowledge about climate change, its effects and health impacts…etc.

Health consequence outcome: refers to the adverse effects that a
changing climate can have effect on the health consequences of cardiac
patient. It may includes general health problem for cardiac patient as
complains of physical problems, decrease their quality of sleep and ability of
daily living activities and physical examination as vital signs, blood
investigations and peripheral circulation.
