Time signature
What is Time signature?
• Time signatures, or meter signatures, indicate how many beats
are in each measure of a piece of music, as well as which note
value is counted as a beat.
• Time signatures are located at the beginning of the staff (a set of five
lines used to dictate each note's pitch), after the clef and key signature.
What does the top and bottom number
means?
• The top number indicates how many beats occur per measure.
And the lower number gives the type of note that will receive
one beat. For Example, If the time signature is 4/4, the upper
number indicates that there are four beats per measure.
