INTRODUCTION
 She’s an American singer-songwriter who is
mostly popular among young women, since
they are the ones that can relate to her songs the
most.
 Her music cannot be identified as one genre,
but these are the ones she is known for: indie-
pop, alt-pop, indie-rock.
 She’s an Adventurer (ISFP) personality type,
which explains how she has so many subjects to
discuss in her songs.
EARLY AGES
• Lana’s name used to be Elizabeth Woolridge Grant.
• Her parents were religious people, who raised their
children (Lizzy, Caroline, Charlie) as roman catholic. 
• Around the age of 14-15 her whole life turned upside
down because of her habit of taking intoxicant drinks,
which she explained in an interview, saying: “The reason I
was sent to boarding school was to get sober”.
• Her uncle started teaching her how to play the guitar, and
briefly after she came to a conclusion about her own
talent, and how to use/invest in it.
• During the time she worked as a waitress, she also
preformed plenty of her songs as Sparkle Jump Rope
Queen and Lizzy Grant and the Phenomena.
CAREER BEGINNINGS
 In 2005, while still in college, Lana registered a seven-
track extended play with the 
United States Copyright Office; with several application
titles listed under the name May Jailer.
 In 2007 she submitted a track of acoustic songs to 5 points
records for 10 000 dollars, which she used to relocate
Manhattan’s Mobile Home Park.
 David Nitche once described her as an incredibly talented
young woman who quickly just kept evolving into a better
singer.
 Del Rey wrote many songs which she never intended to
release, and once preformed one of them at an unknown
bar. Thankfully someone took a footage of it, and it’s
available on youtube.
 BREAKTHROUGH
 Throughout her life, Lana never had much financial
support, which was one of the reasons she wasn’t
able to hire special producers to promote her music.
 Instead, the way she became famous was by
recording a video of herself singing Born To Die and
Video Games with her webcam and publishing it on
all kinds of social media.
 It became a viral youtube sensation overnight
(obviously exaggerating) and soon she won all kinds
of awards, with the titles: The Next Big Thing, Best
Contemorary Song
 The first time Del Rey recieved negative responses
to a preformance was when she sang two songs on
Saturday Night Live. Many critics reflected to her
singing as uneven and vocally shaky.
THE STOLEN LAPTOP
 In 2020 Lana declared that someone broke
her car’s windows and stole the laptop it
contained. Appearently it had many of her
unreleased songs and a poetic book on it,
and since non of it was saved to any
accounts, she didn’t have access to
anything she wrote.
 Del Rey publicly announced, that she
doesn’t want anyone listening to all the
songs that got published, because it wasn’t
released by her.

Ultraviolence
 Even the title itself gestures to the style of
this album. In the songs she mentions sirens,
an abusive relationship and plenty of illegal
things that’ve been done by/to her.
 All the mentioned topics she handles as a
sign of love and care.
 The man she sings about often calls her
poison, deadly nightshade etc.
 In one song she talks about how she’s too
young to love the man of her dreams, but
can’t resist.

Did You Know There’s A Tunnel
Under Ocean Blvd
 This album came out recently (March 24) and it was
honestly a surprise.
 The album’s uniqueness it expressed through her
mature way of handilng trauma and not denying it.
Many of her older songs take part in these ones through
metaphores etc., but in a healthier way, showing: your
life can get better if you emotionally process all
you’ve been through.
BE HAPPY FOR HER
 There might be a who to how Lana is getting better. Her
engagement only recently came into the public eye’s
picture frame, until then her and the secret fiance were
ably to keep their relationship hush-hush.
 The fiance’s name is Evan Winiker and is a 29 year old
(8 years younger) musician.
 Although they lead a very private life together and it’s
unclear when they first started dating, the reportedly soon-
to-be husband and wife have been seen at various
outings together over the past few months.

 This was really fun for me to make, and I hope it wasn’t
as boring as I thought it would be for boys. I’m not sorry
that I chose the topic, but I am sorry if I was insipid.
 For me, Lana means calm afternoons that are spent with
studying, reading but not thinking it’s dull, because she’s
there.
 I hope this inspired you to think of her as someone you
need to be there as well.
