Procedure for Giving an Eyebrow Arch
• Prepare patron. Seat the patron on a facial chair in a reclining position or
seat her in a half upright position and work from the side.
• Select the type of eyebrow arch suitable for her facial characteristics.
• Brush the eyebrow with a small brush to remove powder. Comb the
eyebrows upward and away towards the hairline.
• Cover patron's eyes with cotton pad moistened with hazel or hair acid
solution.
• Mark the eyebrows.

Procedure for Giving an Eyebrow Arch
• Remove hair growing just above the eyebrow line and hair under the
eyebrow line. Sponge tweezers area with cotton moistened with an
antiseptic lotion to prevent infection. When removing hair from under
the eyebrow line, brush the hair upward. Use a tweezers in pulling the
hair from the eyebrows.
• After the tweezing has been completed, apply astringent to close the
pores of the skin.
• Apply eyebrow makeup.
For darker eyebrow hair, use lighter color to shade the hair.
For lighter brow hair, use darker color to shade the eyebrow.

Safety Precautions in Performing Eyebrow Arching
• Wash and sanitize your hands before and after the eyebrow shaping.
• Prepare and sanitize all tools used in eyebrow arching.
• Drape the patron properly for his or her protection.
• Avoid applying antiseptic astringent lotion into patron's eyes.
• Sharpen eyebrow pencils after each use.
• Avoid shaving the eyebrows.
• Grasp each eyebrow hair individually with tweezers and pull it quickly in the direction in which the
hair grows.
• Tweeze the hairs between the brows and above the browline first before the area under the
browline because it is much more sensitive.
• Discard all disposable items after each use.
• Use PPE (personal protective equipment) when performing eyebrow arching.
• Keep your fingernails round and smooth to avoid scratching the patron's face.
