Disaster prevention and mitigation, disaster preparedness, disaster response, and disaster
rehabilitation and recovery were highly implemented in Tandag City.
A null hypothesis of the study is retained since there is no significant difference in the
assessment of the respondents on the implementation of DRRM in Tandag City between
implementers, and constituents.
Tandag City has no problems encountered in the implementation of DRRM in Tandag city
as determined by constituents and implementers. All determined factors have an
advanced level of implementation.
CONCLUSION
• Based on the findings of the study the following conclusions were drawn:
• Policy implementation of DRRM, perceived risk, disaster preparedness knowledge, prior disaster
experiences and certain socio-demographic characteristics such as gender, age, education, and family
income have the potential to affect emergency preparedness and related behaviors. The socio-
demographic profile of the respondents could potentially be a good predictor of community disaster
risk perception, awareness, and household-based preparedness as well as good determinants of
policy implementation.
• In order to prevent disasters, Tandag City established measures such annual programs, infrastructure
improvements in risky locations, hazard-specific management measures, and community awareness
campaigns. They prepare as diligently for any potential tragedy that might arise. This suggests even
more that community and local government representatives are working together to protect the lives
of the locals. The LGU implements rehabilitation and recovery programs for impacted communities
while ensuring comprehensive and sustainable economic development.
• Both constituents and implementers show a uniform pattern of their responses in terms of DRRM
policy implementation. It does shows any significant difference in terms of how these two groups
perceived the extent of implementation of DRRM.
• Tandag City has executed all the preparedness measure and mitigation in the event of disasters. All
RECOMMENDATION
The following are the recommendation of the researchers based on the findings of the study:
In order to achieve higher levels of individual disaster preparedness, it is crucial that governmental
officials, emergency agencies, community leaders and educators pay more attention to low-income
individuals, unemployed people, and individuals who live in high-risk districts, especially those have
not experienced disasters.
Future research and policy formulation should focus on strengthening household disaster
preparedness, and enhancing disaster health risk literacy in the general public. High level disaster-
related mitigation knowledge within the community is an essential asset in the development of
preparedness enhancement programs.
Further investigation will be necessary to examine other aspects of disaster health risk literacy,
including the capability and skills to acquire, evaluate and comprehend disaster-related information,
and the ability to implement emergency response plans to mitigate the impacts of disasters.
