ACTIVITY 01
• You are a new restaurant owner.
Your restaurant has been open for
several weeks, and so far, it looks
like your customers enjoy your
restaurant. But you want more
information. You want to get
feedback from your customers on
their dining experience, specifically
their opinions on your food, service,
and ambiance
• What method you would use?
(Qualitative and/or quantitative)
Why?
Inform Learners of Objectives
At the end of this module, you should be able
to:
Cognitive:
• Define what is experimental research
• Differentiate the two types of experimental
research
• Create graphical organizer about the types of
experimental research
Affective:
• Appreciate the use of experimental researches
• Integrate the use of experimental research
during covid 19 pandemic
Psychomotor:
• Use research tools under experimental
research
DIRECTION: Look and carefully analyze the picture
presented and answer the questions that follow
Questions
• Name some famous and great inventions
you have known since birth.
• What makes you say they are great?
• How do you think the inventors came to
discover the value or greatness of their
creations?
WHAT IS
EXPERIMENTAL
RESEARCH?
Experimental Research Design
● Experimental research is a
quantitative research that treats or
deals with the object or subject of
the research in a definite or exact
manner and determines the extent
of the effects or influence of the
treatment on the object/subject,
then discovers the causes of such
effects.
Experimental Research Design
• Two groups are involved in
any experimental research:
the experimental group,
the one on which the
treatment or influence is
applied, and the control
group, which does not
receive any treatment
Experimental Research Design
• The objects or subjects
involved in these types
research is chosen
randomly or selected
by chance, rather
than by the decision
of the researcher.
Experimental Research Design
• Experimental research is
categorized into two: true
experimental research
and quasi-experimental
research. Based on where
the experimental research is
done, it is either laboratory
research or field research.
WHAT IS QUASI-
EXPERIMENTAL
RESEARCH?
Quasi-Experimental Research Design
Usually, participants chosen in a
quasi-experimental research are
those forming a class that remains
as one group incapable of
disintegration. The not randomly
chosen participants are
subjected to any of these types
of quasi-experimental research
