introduced the phrase to a wider
audience in a 2015 article published
by Foreign Affairs. But before this we
had another 3 Industrial Revolutions.

Revolution is the trend towards
automation and data exchange in
manufacturing technologies and
processes which include IoT, cloud
computing, cognitive computing, and
artificial intelligence.

• Social - Privacy concerns, Surveillance and

distrust, Loss of many jobs to automatic
processes and IT-controlled processes

• Political - Unclear legal issues and data security
