JUNCTIONS
Neuromuscular disorders include wide range of
diseases affecting the peripheral nervous system
which consists of all the motor and sensory
nerves that connect the brain and spinal cord to
the rest of the body.
The common cause of the disorders of the neuromuscular
junction is myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disease
where the immune system produces antibodies that attach
themselves to the neuromuscular junction and prevent
transmission of the nerve impulse to the muscle.
