TION
INTRODUCTION
o Burning fossil fuel = CO2
o Extra CO2 - insulating blanket, keeping heat
o Trapped heat warms planet = affects global climate
o Periods of heat/water stress, damages several things
o Photosynthesis- Plants develop using energy from sun to convert
CO2 into plant tissue
o Question- Could the increase in CO2 in the atmosphere improve the
growth of crops, and offset the predicted negative effects of climate
change?
o Hypothesis- yes, CO2 > crops grow better + use less water

EXPERIMENT WHAT'S THE
Crops used for CO₂ Calculation
● Wheat POINT?
Calculating possible effects of climate
● Rice change and atmospheric CO2
● Soybean concentrations on crop yield and plant
● Maize water use

We focused our calculations on these four

crops that are important for worldwide food
supply

• Crop Yield object in the Solar System
• Evapotranspiration

Evapotranspiration: The process of water vapor escaping from plants and water surfaces into the atmosphere.

When changing the climate and keeping CO2
concentrations to today’s level:

• Yields of all our four crops decreased greatly and

died all over
