 Started in the 1970s by the World


Kickboxing Association
 There are over a hundred countries world
wide participating in the sport of
kickboxing
 The WKA is the largest and the oldest of
the kickboxing association

 Kickboxing matches are typically three rounds
of three minutes each
 Fighters wear gloves and protective gear,
including mouth guards, shin guards, and
groin protectors.
 Strikes are allowed with fists, feet, elbows,
and knees
 Fighters can win by knockout, technical
knockout, or decision.
 Illegal moves in kickboxing include strikes to
the back of the head, throat, or groin, as well
as throws, sweeps, and holds.
