OF BULLYING
 Bullying, if not intervened, may have
long lasting and direct effect on the
learners’ health, school performance
and overall well-being. (Gerardo

NEGATIVE EFFECTS

 These bullying experiences affected
their behavioral, creative, emotional,
social, physical, and intellectual well-
being.
DEPED’s
RESPONSE
 The Department of Education urged schools to
conduct a thorough and complete review in
preventing and addressing cases of bullying.
 Alignment of anti-bullying policies to the
department of both public and private schools.

United Nations Convention on the Rights of the
Child

 The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child


is an important agreement by countries who have
promised to protect children’s rights.

 The Convention explains who children are, all their rights,


and the responsibilities of governments.

 State shall defend the right of children to assistance,


including proper care and nutrition, and special
protection from all forms of neglect, abuse, cruelty,
exploitation, and other conditions prejudicial to their

VERBAL BULLYING

While verbal bullying can start off


harmless, it can escalate to levels
which start affecting the
individual target.
SOCIAL BULLYING
INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
 Lying and Spreading Rumors
 Negative facial or physical gestures,
Menacing or Contemptuous looks
 playing nasty jokes to embarrass and
humiliate (e.g. SCHOOL PRANKS)
SOCIAL BULLYING
INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
 Mimicking unkindly
 Encouraging others to social exclude
someone
 damaging someone’s social reputation or
social acceptance.
SOCIAL BULLYING

Social bullying, sometimes referred to as


covert bullying, is often harder to recognize
and can be carried out behind the bullied
person’s back. It is designed to harm
someone’s social reputation and / or cause
humiliation.
CYBER BULLYING
INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
 Abusive or hurtful texts, emails or posts,
images or videos
 Deliberately excluding others online
 Nasty gossip or rumors
 imitating others online or using their log-in
CYBER BULLYING

Cyber bullying can happen at any


time. It can be in public or in private
and sometimes only known to the
target and the person bullying.

BULLYING
Subject for the established rules and regulations of the
school.
It may include but not limited to:
 Community service
 Suspension from classes
 Expulsion from the school
 Other possible legal sanctions/penalties

AS THE WITNESS
The complainant/bystander shall:
 inform any school personnel of the bullying
incident that he/she witnesses or is aware of, and
narrate the bullying incident truthfully in
details.
 act as witness and speaks truthfully during the
mediation process.
 sign the CPC Form 4 - Agreement Form upon

The parents of the bully and the bullied shall:

 participate in the conduct of mediation


process conducted by the teacher/adviser,
guidance counselor or CPC

 sign the CPC Form 4–Agreement Form
 give consent, help and monitor their children
in undergoing the intervention program
agreed with the teacher-adviser, guidance
counselor or CPC

The parents of the bully and the bullied shall:

 ensure that the children’s rights are


respected and upheld in all matters and
procedures affecting their welfare
ROLES OF EVERY
PARENT
The PARENTS shall:
 participate and cooperate in all prevention,
intervention and other measures related to
bullying implemented by the school; and
 act as member of the CPC as designated by the
Parents –Teachers Association.
