After reading the problem, I know that: I am going to measure the sides of a block in centimeter.

This is what I don’t know: a quilting blocks


This is what I need to know: the measure of each side centimeter.
Here is how I solved the problem: I created a square, then I add the diagonal inside the square and
put the value of diagonal which is . Also, I know that the square have an equal sides and for this
reason the legs of the right triangle are congruent. Therefore, I recognize that as a 45-45-90 triangle.
In addition, I wrote a proportion of then divided the proportion to get the solution x= 3 cm.
For these three reasons, I know why: Special right triangle theorems could be applied in real-world
situations.
