Clean up Drawings

For Animators
What is a cleaned up drawing?
• A drawing completed by using other
unfinished animation drawings.
• Cels care made from the rough animated
drawings.
CLEAN-UP REQUIREMENTS FOR
DRAWING
• In traditional animation, the first drawings are called
"roughs" or "rough animation" because they are often done
in a very loose fashion.
• If the animation is successfully pencil tested and approved
by the director, clean versions of the drawings have to be
done.
• In larger studios this task is given to the animator's
assistant, or, in a more specialised setting, to a clean-up-
artist.
• The artist doing the clean-ups is responsible for the final
line and finished look of the shot
Requirements for Clean - up Drawings
1.ACTION BREAKDOWN.
2.TURN AROUNDS.
3.Model Sheet. (turn arounds, expressions, mouths, charts)
4.Key Animation.
5.in Actual Scene Folder.
6.CHARACTER ATTITUDES.
7.CHARACTER MODEL.
8.MOUTH CHARTS.
What is the process of clean up drawing?
• Clean-up animation is the process of creating
the final drawings you see in the finished film.
• It does not necessarily mean a "clean" fine line.
• The artist, usually a team of artists, uses key
drawings and animation charts from the animator,
making it appear as though one artist has created
the whole film.
What is the primary objective of a clean
up drawing?
• The task of a clean-up artist is to enhance and to enhance
and to strictly follow the model the guide, making sure that
the proportions and the basic construction are based on
the model sheets. In the final clean-up, appeal in the drawing
should be aimed for using the final pencil line quality.
How important are the requirements in
clean up drawing for animators?
• Clean-up is a part of the workflow in the
production of hand-drawn animation.

expressions and emotions. ...
• Pose sheets specify the key poses of your
creation. ...
• Character construction sheets are all about
proportions. ...
• Turnaround model sheets offer a 360-degree
character visual.
What are keys and breakdowns in
animation?
• Keys: the drawings which define the
movement. Breakdowns: the drawings which define the
arcs and fine-tune the timing.
What are key drawings in animation?
• A key drawing is a visually significant pose in a movement,
often an extreme position.
• For example, if a character that is sitting down falls on his back,
the key poses would be the character sitting and the character
on his back. Of course, it may vary from one animation to
another.
What is breakdown in animation terms?
A breakdown is a pose at the turning point of a motion path -
often during the fastest moment of a motion.
It's often se... More poses are the animator's most important tool
to define motion.
What is the significance of key drawing
breakdowns?
• Breakdowns (or passing positions) are important poses that
define how a character moves between key poses. It provides
the interest for the movement and is the basis for defining
the arcs and delays used throughout.
Animation workflow
• Animation workflow or pipeline is a system
consisting of people, hardware, and software
aligned to work in a specific sequential order
to do pre-determined tasks in a pre-
determined time frame, which will lead to a 3D
animation product or asset as the final output.
What is the importance of animation
workflow?
• It is the foundation of the whole project.
• This comes from either the studio itself or the client requesting
the project.
• By closely following the script, the design team will begin the
character, props and locations and design.
• The storyboard artist will start working on the storyboard
What are the 8 Stages of the
Animation Process
• Researching.
• Defining the project's scope.
• Writing the script.
• Voice recording.
• Storyboarding.
• Illustration.
• Animation.
• Sound design.
