 We need to follow the steps to make the story…

 The first thing we do when writing


a story is coming up with:

BUILD A STORY: PLOT SUMMARY

 So, now we have created a story using improv, let’s make a plot summary

 A plot summary is a short version of the complete story.


 It can let the audience know what the story is about in a few simple sentences.

 In groups of 4, come up with a plot summary (3/4 mins)


PLOT SUMMARY EXAMPLE

 A farm couple finds a crash site with small spaceship with a baby inside. That baby
grows up to become the greatest hero the world has ever known.
 A mysterious warning from an elf keeps Harry on his toes as he begins to unlock the
secrets of Tom Riddle, talking spiders and a unique journal.
 One of William Shakespeare's greatest plays, Romeo and Juliet, follows two people
from warring families as they meet and fall in love despite their family’s disapproval.
Through several missed chances and miscommunications, they end up killing
themselves for love.

STORY READ-THROUGH – 

 There is a serial killer in a seafood restaurant. There is someone in the bathroom. The lights turn off; she screams!
 Jayson, a detective, is sent to the restaurant to find out what happened.
 Elexia, a Mom, is hiding in the restaurant under a table.
 Jayson comes into the bathroom. He see’s a dead body hanging! He screams! It’s C.Rice!
 “hmm, looks like suicide”, says Jayson.
 Jayson looks under the table and notices Elexia.
 ”OMG thank you detective! You saved me and my beautiful baby”, says Elexia, she is crying and shaking.
 Jayson notices something from the corner of his eye. He looks up.
 On the wall next to C.Rice, written in blood, are the words, MOM IS KILLER!
 Jayson looks terrified. He turns around and looks at Elexia, who is SMILING! Evil.
 “You found me, detective”, Elexia says.
 SUDDENLY, Elexia stabs detective Jayson with a knife!
 Jayson says “I hate you”.
 Elexia laughs. She jumps out of the restaurant window and dives into the nearest lake.
 Elexia notices she is drowning and can not swim! “Oh! I forgot I can’t swim! WHY did I jump into water! Noooooooooooooooooooo”. She is. Gone.
 The end.
STORY READ-THROUGH –
 There is no more toilet paper in the bathroom.
 Lio is sitting on a toilet. He looks over at the paper. There is none!
 Lio looks terrified and screams! He looks down at the floor and puts his hands on his head.
 Cici, a young girl, hears Lio crying. She knocks on the bathroom door. “Hey, are you OK in there”, asks Cici.
 Lio, crying, says “No! Go away. Let me poop in peace.”
 A very tall girl called Kiko can hear the conversation in the bathroom. She comes in, looking very angry.
 Kiki says, “What are you doing in here! STOP CRYING!
 Cici looks angry and says “He has no toilet paper! He is in such pain! How dare you.”
 Kiki says: ”Why is there a man in the GIRLS toilet??”
 Lio suddenly looks very nervous. He says: ”OMG I thought this was the boy’s toilet…
 Cici picks up some poop and throws it at Kiko’s face.
 Kiko screams! She remembers at school they taught her how to dance if she feels in danger
 Kiko starts dancing. She dances like crazy. Cici looks at her weirdly.
 Lio opens the bathroom door. He looks at both of them.
 Kiko and Cici look at each other. They look at Lio. Suddenly, they grab some poop and both throw it at Lio’s face.
 Lio has superpowers and flies into the sky. The end.

prove yourself!
 Let’s do a roleplay in pairs of 2.

SCENARIO – Lost Person


You are calling a detective agency on the phone (a place that finds missing people). You
have lost a person, you don’t know where they are!
Follow the script and use your improv skills to complete the phone conversation.

 You have 3/5 minutes to practice with your partner


 After you have practiced for 3/5 minutes, we will choose 3 pairs to come
up to the front of class to perform their roleplay.

 The story should be at least 100 words.
