DEFINITION
- Lapsing morally as in the practice of
religion
- Losing interest in God
(1st King 11:9-10)
- Not loving Christ enough as at first
(Revelation 2:4)
DEFINITION
- It is first a condition of the heart
- A rebellious condition of the heart
- May start as a sinful attitude
- To go back in doing something bad when
you are doing something good
 SIGNS
1.They justify their own
BACKSLIDING behavior

(Jeremiah 3:11)
 The LORD said to me,
“Faithless Israel is more
righteous than unfaithful
Judah”.

2. They are deceived and
BACKSLIDING stubborn

(Jeremiah 8:5)
 Why then is this people
of Jerusalem slidden
back by a perpetual
backsliding? They hold
fast deceit, they refuse to
return

3. They refuse to seek God
BACKSLIDING on their decisions

(Zephaniah 1:6)
And them that are turned
back from the Lord; and
those that have not
sought the Lord, nor
inquired for Him.

BACKSLIDING God to His rightful place

 And my people are bent

to the most High, none at
all would exalt Him

 MATTHEW 12:43-45
43 When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes
through arid places seeking rest and does not find it

final condition of that man is worse than the first. That
is how it will be with this wicked generation.
