What is war?
• War is a situation or a period of fighting between
countries or groups of people.
• A war generally involves the use of weapons, a military
organization and soldiers.
• War is a situation in which a nation enforces its rights by
using force.
• Not every armed conflict is a war.
Why should we not go to war?

It causes mass destruction and causes even more

conflicts as shown on next slide
World War I
• WW1 caused the downfall of four
monarchies: Germany, Turkey, Austria-
Hungary and Russia.
• The war changed the economical balance
of the world, leaving European countries
deep in debt.
• With troops traveling all over the world,
influenza was spread easily and an
epidemic started which killed more than
25 million people across the world.
• World war one lead to another war that
was started by Germany.
• The number of deaths caused by the war
are around 40,000,000 (Million)
World War II
 The major causes of World War II were numerous.
 The rise of militarism in Germany and Japan, and the failure of the League of Nations. ...
 Then, on September 1, 1939, German troops invaded Poland.
 Some 75 million people died in World War II, including about 20 million military personnel
and 40 million civilians.
 Many of whom died because of deliberate genocide, massacres, mass-bombings, disease,
and starvation.
 At the end of the war, millions of people were dead and millions more homeless.
 The European economy had collapsed, and much of the European industrial infrastructure
had been destroyed. The Soviet Union, too, had been heavily affected.
How to
Avoid War
There are many other ways to avoid war.
Such as:
• Treat the other side with respect
• Recognize that there is the perception of injustice
on both sides. This is a point of agreement
adversaries can join in.
• Be prepared to forgive and ask for forgiveness.
• Refrain from belligerence.
• Use emotional intelligence, which means
understanding the other side’s feelings, giving them
value, and making them equal to your feelings.
Why should we avoid war?
War leads to endless killing of innocent people. All Lives matter regardless of their color, age, race,
nationality, religion. We are all humans and should avoid unnecessary bloodshed? How would it feel
to see a once happy child fighting in a war. Being forced to kill people just to survive. Just to eat.
Nobody wants to live in such a nightmare of a world.
How many nuclear bombs
are there?
Russia and the USA Have around 7,000 nuclear
weapons at their disposal with other countries
having a thousand! Let’s say to completely
eradicate a city you need 3 nuclear bombs. If you
would destroy every single city on earth you
would kill half the population and still have 1,500
nuclear weapons left. Imagine living in a world
where half of humanity can be completely
eradicated in a few hours.
Extra Info
In world war 2 Little boy and Fat boy equaled to about 20 million tons of tnt. The largest
known explosion on Earth is the infamous Tsar bomb. The Tsar bomb had an equivalent
