SUB-TYPES OF RESEARCH

• Historical research. A rational explanation for, or the causes


of, a particular event.
• Descriptive research is research that is done to describe a
phenomenon. It is concerned with who/ what is not how, why,
when.
• Correlational research is aimed at searching for a relationship between
different types of data

• Evaluation research involves the application of interventions
to identify the shortcom­ings or usefulness of a program.
• Participatory research is research that emphasizes community
participation.
• Action research is done during the course of an activity to
improve the approaches of that activity
CONTINUATION
• Experimental research is the systematic manipulation of
experimental conditions or situations in which external
influences are controlled or excluded.
• Explanatory research entails the identification of why
something is the way it is.
CONTINUATION
• Ethnographic Research. It attempts to describe group
behavior and interactions in social settings.
Studies can be in every field that related to education such as;
• Education of Backward persons.
• Free and compulsory education
CONTINUATION
• Drop-out rate, Equal opportunities, Vocationalisation
• Curriculum decolonization, Education management
• Sociology of Education.
