Protection and regeneration of rare
habitats.
• Due to deforestation and climate change many habitats have been
lost.
• These habitats are home to many different living organisms.
• We are trying to protect these endangered habitats and re-
establish them again.
• Coral reefs, mangroves and heathlands are an example.
• To protect the coral reef we are working to decrease carbon
dioxide emissions.

Reduction of deforestation and carbon dioxide emissions.
• Some
governments
are starting to
recognise the
damage
deforestation
and increasing
CO2 emissions
has.
• At one point rainforests in Costa
Rica were being felled rapidly,
however, now they’re protected.
Recycling resources.
• Waste placed in landfill sites affects biodiversity by using land
and producing pollution.
• Globally, many countries are now working to recycle as much
waste as possible. Governments have introduced many
initiatives to reduce waste.
