CONCRETE
CASTING
Mixing and casting :-
The utilisation of recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) in Self-Compacting Concrete
(SCC) has the potential to reduce both the environmental impact and financial cost
associated with this increasingly popular concrete type.
In-mould curing :-
During the initial period of approximately 1 day (24+-8 hrs), the concrete is in a
sealed environment and the surface is covered with a plastic sheet or other
impervious plate/sheet over its top. Hence, the concrete specimen is under curing
during the 1st day inside the mold.
Water curing :-
The concrete is flooded, ponded, or mist sprayed. This is the most effective curing
method for preventing mix water evaporation. it is cured for 28 days.
