THE OPIUM WAR
The 1st Opium War was a conflict fought between the United Kingdom and
the Qing dynasty of China in the mid-19th century. The main cause of the
war was the British trade of opium, a highly addictive narcotic drug, to
China. Despite the Qing government’s attempts to ban the importation of
opium, the trade continued to flourish, leading to widespread addiction
and social problems in China.
 In 1839, the Qing government seized a large quantity of Opium stored
in the British-run port city of Canton and demanded that the British
stop the trade. The Qing government declared war on Britain, when
British refused.

 The 1st Opium War had a profound impact on China, as it marked the
beginning of a period of economic, political, and cultural decline that
lasted for several decades.

 The war lasted 1839-1842


BATTLE of ALEXANDRIA
 The fought was on July 1- July 30, 30 BC
between the forces of Octavian and Mark
Anthony during the last war of the Roman
Republic.
 The battle of Alexandria took place in
darkness in the early hours of 21 March 1801
and was one of the most chaotic actions of
the wars of French and British.
 March 21, 1801, which put an empire and with
it.
 The man is Sir Ralph Abercromby, and the
pointing shows the Battle of Alexandria.
 The British victory in Egypt, 8th to 21st March,

PERRY’S BLACK FLEET
 Japanese called perry’s ship kurofune because of the
black smoke from coal-fired steam engines of
American ships
 Kurofune became the symbol of ending of isolation
Commodore Perry is granted by US
Congress with the reward of $20,000 ( $582,000 in
2023) and was known as one of the highest cost
rewarded in history.
