What is therapeutic
communication?
Therapeutic communication is defined as an interaction
from a healthcare professional to a patient and aims at
promoting the physical and mental well-being of the
patient. The interaction typically involves both verbal
and nonverbal communication from the healthcare
professional to convey a message in a calm manner.
What is bedside manner?
Bedside manner is the way in which a healthcare
professional conveys him- or herself to the patient.
Bedside manner includes factors like attitude,
friendliness, and empathy. Bedside manner is one of the
most important factors in therapeutic communication.
TIPS TO START A GOOD THERAPEUTIC
COMMUNICATION
