FLY ASH SYSTEM
THE FUNCTION OF FLY ASH SYSTEM:
- COLLECT FLY ASH FROM ESP HOPPER
- COLLECT FLY ASH FROM ECONOMIZER
- COLLECT FLY ASH FROM GAS AIR HEATER
- TRANSPORT FLY ASH TO THE COARSE ASH (CA),FINE ASH (FA) & TERMINAL
END STORAGE SILO
- UNLOAD THE FLY ASH FROM THE STORAGE SILO
ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR
Used only when firing coal
By Passed when firing oil/gas
Once flue gas flow established to close the bypass damper & open I/L & O/L dampers.
Designed to bypass the flue gas flow around the ESP’s after the last pulveriser is shut
down
Designed to have inlet ,outlet & bypass damper operation interlocked with the PA fan
starting & stopping

ESP DEPAC TRANSMITTER
CYCLING TRANSMITTER
Function:
Fly ash is gravity fed from hopper. A level switch or back up timer initiates fluidizing.
Function:
Conveying air enters transmitter through the fluidizing disc at bottom, pressurizing the
transmitter and completely fluidizing the ash. At completion, a high pressure switch initiates
the discharges phase.
Depac Transmitter Discharge Stage
Function:
A “Slug” of fluidizing ash is discharged into the pipeline by conveying air in the form
of a continuous, dense slug.
Function:
The ash is being conveyed through the conveying line to storage. A low pressure switch
senses completion of conveying, and stage 1 initiates again.
