VE
 Denis Villeneuve is a french canadian director, screenwriter
and producer who lived in Canada and actually is one the
greatest directors with one the most characteristic style and
artistic vision of the industry.

In 2016, when i watched his movie called Arrival literally blow

my mind because since the beginning to the end hypnotized
me so much, i understand her vision and i was connect with
her visual and narrative work on that movie.

 Denis Villeneuve is a very special filmmaker,
not only because for hes career, indeed from the
beginning he knew how to mark his own style in
a very personal and unique way.

HIS
Creating a line of discourse linked to human
existentialism, the most earthly violence and the
thorough and deep analysis of his characters on
a psychological level.

STYL
For this he himself highlighted so soon, being
recognized in 2000 at the Toronto film festival,
winning the award for best Canadian film for
Maelstrom.
 In 'Polytechnique' Villeneuve explores
the human pain through one of the most
unjust, harrowing and terrifying events
and attacks of the 21st century,
considered to be the most unfair and

misogynistic events and attacks, such as
the massacre at the Montreal
Polytechnic school, making intelligent
use of framing and perspective narrative
of the event, exploring the event from
different angles without incurring in
prostituting the pain of the victims.
 Another of the characteristics i said
distinguishes Villeneuve is the
exploration he makes of his characters,
such as those in ‘Arrival’, where he

captures the emotions and the
existentialist necessities about why we
here and why is our purpose, but in the
framing of the science fiction.

In this film, Villeneuve manages to

climb to a higher level, not only in what
he wants to tell but also how he tells it.
 Out of the science fiction framework
that Villeneuve has focused on since
2016 with Arrival, another of his
different points is that almost obsessive
with taking the characters to the limit,

putting them in situations of pain, terror
and existentialist agony, as if a father of
overnight he lost his daughter taking
him on a journey of absolute
desperation and terrifying violence to
find culpable and answers, as happens
in Prisoners, starring Hugh Jackman
and Jake Gyllenhaal.

This movie is in my personal opinion the best
movie of Villeneuve, especially because is the
movie with the best and complete plot, the most
interesting internal narrative and the best work in
the development of their main characters and the
exploring what he do around the linguistic and
the humanity perception of the time.
BLADE RUNNER
2049
The Blade Runner of 1982 is for many the best
sci-fi movie of all time, obviusly, is natural to
feel the same or more love and admiration for
this sequel, one of the most perfect movies of the
last twenty years in my personal opinion, in when
Villeneuve do one of the biggest efforts to
created something familiar but at the same time
something with own soul and new.
