What is Education?
• Education is the process of teaching or leaning,
especially in school or other educational
institution, or the knowledge, skills, and habits that
you get from this.

are well-informed, accountable, and capable.

• Self-actualization can be achieved through lifelong


learning or education. It is the realization of one's
full potential.
• Individual who experience intense joy and
amazement are said to be self-actualized.
Education as Human Right

• Philippine Constitution 1987 Article 14 Section 1:


The State shall protect and promote the right of all
citizens to quality education at all levels, and shall
take appropriate steps to make such education
accessible to all.

• The Universal Declaration of Human Rights state


that everyone has the right to education.
• Education has to be free and compulsory at least in
the primary level.
Performance Task
Let the learners portray a
scene, showing the importance
of education in the society.
• According to Crispin Aranda of Manila Times
dated August 9, 2021, Philippine has the highest
dropout rate in ASEAN countries with the dropout
rate of 6.38 percent in elementary learners and 7.82
percent of secondary school learner. ("The Borgen
Project," Oct. 6, 2019).
