DEATH, STATE OF VOICE OF YOUNG

PROFESSIONAL
THE DEAD REVIVE 2022
Most people have
wondered at some point in
their life about death, the
afterlife, and where they will
end up. As humans we
know that one day we will
die. No one on this earth
lives forever.

The good news is, we do
have a reliable source that
tells us how to navigate this
tough subject.
Seventh-day Adventists
uphold what the bible says
about what happens when
we die and after we die.

We’ll look closely at:
- What death really means
- Why death exists
- The mass resurrections at
Jesus’ Second Coming

BELIEF 26:
DEATH AND
RESURRECTION
The wages of sin is death. But God, who alone is immortal,
.
will grant eternal life to His redeemed. Until that day death is
an unconscious state for all people. When Christ, who is our
life, appears, the resurrected righteous and the living
righteous will be glorified and caught up to meet their Lord.
The second resurrection, the resurrection of the unrighteous,
will take place a thousand years later. (Job 19:25-27; Ps.
146:3, 4; Eccl. 9:5, 6, 10; Dan. 12:2, 13; Isa. 25:8; John 5:28,
29; 11:11-14; Rom. 6:23; 6:16; 1 Cor. 15:51-54; Col. 3:4; 1
Thess. 4:13-17; 1 Tim. 6:15; Rev. 20:1-10.) WOODGROVE

WHAT REALLY HAPPENS
WHEN WE DIE?

WOODGROVE 6
BANK
The Bible says those who
have died know nothing.
That means we aren’t aware .

of the passage of time after

death. We aren’t aware of
what’s happening in the
world.
WOODGROVE 7
BANK
Death is like a deep sleep.
Your body and spirit rests
as the breath of life—which .

makes body and soul one,

and alive—has returned to
God until the resurrection.

WOODGROVE 8
BANK
“For the living know that they will
die, but the dead know nothing, and
they have no more reward, for the
memory of them is forgotten. Their
love and their hate and their envy
have already perished, and forever
they have no more share in all that
is done under the sun” (Ecclesiastes
9:5,6, ESV).
WOODGROVE 9
BANK
“and the dust returns to the
earth as it was, and the spirit
returns to God who gave it”
(Ecclesiastes 12:7, ESV).

WOODGROVE 10
BANK
In that moment Adam became a
living being.

“Then the LORD God formed the

man of dust from the ground and
breathed into his nostrils the
breath of life, and the man
became a living creature”
(Genesis 2:7, ESV). WOODGROVE 11
BANK
“And the LORD God formed man
of the dust of the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils the
breath of life; and man became
a living soul” (Genesis 2:7,
KJV).

WOODGROVE 12
BANK
“…the body apart from the
spirit is dead” (James 2:26,
ESV).
“as long as my breath is in
me, and the spirit of God is
in my nostrils” (Job 27:3,
ESV). WOODGROVE 13
BANK
“If they do not speak
according to this word, it is
because there is no light in
them” (Isaiah 8:20, NKJV).

WOODGROVE 14
BANK
WHY DO WE DIE?

WOODGROVE 15
BANK
“For the wages of sin is death,
but the free gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our
Lord” (Romans 6:23, ESV).

WOODGROVE 16
BANK
“Therefore, just as sin came
into the world through one
man, and death through sin,
and so death spread to all
men because all sinned”
(Romans 5:12, ESV).
WOODGROVE 17
BANK
“but of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil
you shall not eat, for in the
day that you eat of it you
shall surely die” (Genesis
2:17, ESV).
WOODGROVE 18
BANK
“So when the woman saw that the
tree was good for food, and that it
was a delight to the eyes, and that
the tree was to be desired to
make one wise, she took of its
fruit and ate, and she also gave
some to her husband who was
with her, and he ate” (Genesis
3:6, ESV).

THE FIRST
RESURRECTION

WOODGROVE 20
BANK
“For the Lord himself will descend from
heaven with a cry of command, with
the voice of an archangel, and with the
sound of the trumpet of God. And the
dead in Christ will rise first. Then we
who are alive, who are left, will be
caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and
so we will always be with the Lord” (1
Thessalonians 4:16,17, ESV).
WOODGROVE 21
BANK
THE SECOND
RESURRECTION

WOODGROVE 22
BANK
“The rest of the dead did not
come to life until the
thousand years were ended.
This is the first resurrection”
(Revelation 20:5, ESV).

WOODGROVE 23
BANK
WHAT IS
SECOND DEATH?

WOODGROVE 24
BANK
“Then Death and Hades
were thrown into the lake
of fire. This is the second
death, the lake of fire”
(Revelation 20:14, ESV).
WOODGROVE 25
BANK
If the wicked were tormented
in hell forever, they would be
immortal souls. The Scripture
says God alone is immortal,
and only those
who choose redemption throu
gh Jesus
will be granted eternal life
(John 3:15-16; 17:3). WOODGROVE
BANK 26
“… the King of kings and
Lord of lords, who alone
has immortality, who
dwells in unapproachable
light, whom no one has
ever seen or can see” (1
Timothy 6:15, 16, ESV).
WOODGROVE 27
BANK
WHAT HAPPENS TO
GOD’S FAITHFUL
PEOPLE?

WOODGROVE 28
BANK
“Then I saw a new heaven and a
new earth, for the first heaven and
the first earth had passed away,
and the sea was no more… and
death shall be no more, neither
shall there be mourning, nor crying,
nor pain anymore, for the former
things have passed away”
(Revelation 21:1-4, ESV).
WOODGROVE 29
BANK
HOW DO WE PREPARE
FOR DEATH AND THE
RESURRECTIONS?

WOODGROVE 30
BANK
“For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have
eternal life” (John 3:16,
ESV).
WOODGROVE 31
BANK
“For the Lord loves justice;
he will not forsake his saints.
They are preserved forever,
but the children of the wicked
shall be cut off. The righteous
shall inherit the land and
dwell upon it forever” (Psalm
37:28,29, ESV).
WOODGROVE 32
BANK
“Because, if you confess with
your mouth that Jesus is Lord
and believe in your heart that
God raised him from the
dead, you will be saved”
(Romans 10:9, ESV).

2. Recognize that you are a sinner in need of
a Savior.
3. Acknowledge the penalty for sin is death.
4. Ask God for forgiveness and repent from
your sin.
5. Accept Jesus as your personal Savior and
follow him. WOODGROVE

“But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-
control; against such things
there is no law” (Galatians
5:23, ESV).

WOODGROVE 35
BANK
“Finally, brothers, whatever is
true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is just, whatever is
pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is commendable, if
there is any excellence, if there
is anything worthy of praise,
think about these things”
(Philippians 4:8, ESV).
WOODGROVE 36
BANK
“A new commandment I give
to you, that you love one
another: just as I have loved
you, you also are to love one
another” (John 13:34, ESV).

WOODGROVE 37
BANK
We also have the hope of
the resurrection and of
one day seeing our loved
ones who have died in
Christ resurrected to life
again one day soon!
