TEMPORAL VARIABILITY OF THE FIRST STAGES OF Euphausia

mucronata AND ITS RELATION WITH OCEANOGRAPHIC

CONDITIONS OFF NORTHERN PERÚ (1994 - 2006)
K. Aronés and P.Ayón S3-3757
Abstract
The aim objective of this study is verify possible spatial and temporal variability influenced by oceanographic conditions on stages first of the
euphausiids (calyptopis and furcilias). Euphausia mucronata stages like calyptopis was dominant with 69.5% while furcilia stage was 30.4% of
Euphausia mucronata. We found a long-term trends significant at p = 0.05 for superficial temperature and oxygen. First stages abundance increased
from 1999 to 2000. Spearman’s correlation between furcilia and oceanographic parameters (p<0.05) were temperature, salinity and oxygen and for
calyptopis were salinity and oxygen.
