GREEN AGGREGATE

“The Zero Waste Solution”

What is Green Aggregate?

A by-product of steelmaking produced during the separation of
molten steel of impurities in Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) by using
the Calcium Oxide (CaO) commonly known as limestone as a
process of the steel purification.
Green Aggregate is a Steel Slag that has been separated and
crushed into a smaller sizes which contains of several oxides
such as Magnesium Oxide (MgO), Iron Trioxide (Fe₂O₃), MnO₂
and Silica Dioxide (SiO₂), which are beneficial for other
industries and for the environment.

How is the Green Aggregate Generated?

This processes indicate that the utilization of the green aggregate is one
form of implementation of the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG)
program that is being promoted by the company by processing and
reusing the waste generated from the production process.

Slag Range of Product

There are slag types and sizes as follows:
No Type Slag Size Capacity/Month
(Tonnage)

1 Grit 0 - 4 mm 468
2 Split/Coral 4 -8 mm 468
8 -12 mm 780
12 -20 mm 1,092
20 – 50 mm 156
3 Scrap N/A 156
Total 3,120

Green Aggregate Utilization

1. 2. 3.
Slag has many other applications. For example, slag can be
used to produce I. permeable bricks, 2. concrete brick, 3.
paving block, 4. fertilizer material (agricultural 4. 5. 6.
applications to increase crop yield), 5. roadbase, 6. mixture
for hot asphalt, 7. cement.
The characteristics of slag products such as strength, water
7.
resistance, fireproofing, sound insulation, anti-corrosion,
shock resistance that make it can be utilize for other
industry.

Clinical Test
Green Aggregate has been tested using TCLP (Toxicity
Characteristic Leaching Procedure) as required by the Government
(MoE) and has been determined as Non-Hazardous Waste, thus can
be reused for fertilizer and other industrial processes.
Note: (TCLP test clears that Chromium Hexavalen, Mercury, Cyanide, Benzene,
Methyl Ethyl Ketone and other chemical substances hazardous to health is
determined below the permissible levels)
