FUNK

 Funk is a combination of blues and soul. It is known for its strong base line
and heavy downbeats that create static harmonies. From Funk, it later had
variations such as Funk Rock and Funk Metal that emerged during the 1980s
up to 1990s. In addition to the funk variety, Funk Nostalgia was brought about
in the mid of 1990s.
 An African-American artist named James Brown gave way to this complex yet
danceable music, Barth, Wind, and Fire became one of the mainstream
groups that gave people the reason to love funk even more. Later in the
1980s, funk became more explicit in terms of theme and lyrics: music
synthesizers replaced some instruments such as keyboard and percussion
sessions.
