 He proposed that all
continents had once been
joined together in a single land
mass and drifted apart
Wegener named the
supercontinent Pangea

found in rocks in Africa,
South America, Australia,

 Rocks and Mountain Correlation-
Mountains that contain rocks of identical
mineral content, huge belts of rocks found in
Africa and South America were identical. If the
continents were put together the Appalachian
Mountains that disappear off the coast of
Newfoundland match mountains in the British
Isles and Scandinavia which are comparable in
age.

Glacier Evidence- there is proof that glaciers moved
from Africa through Atlantic Ocean, and then
onwards South America.

plants that lived million
years ago. These were
discovered in South
America, Africa, Indian
subcontinent, Southeast
Asia, and even in Antarctica

indicate that the climate was
much warmer in the past
Must have been located closer
to the equator, before
Coal deposits have been found
in the polar regions, however
coal is formed in tropical
regions.

inner layers of the
earth, and is the
force that drives
the plates to move
around
