World Heritage Sites

Machu Picchu
● Located in Peru, Machu Picchu is one of the most
visited tourist destinations in South America.
● It was built by the Incas in the 15th century and is
believed to have been a royal estate or sacred
religious site.
● The site was rediscovered as recently as 1911 and
declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
● The views of the surrounding mountains are
breathtaking.

The Great Wall of China
● It was built more than 2,000 years ago, the Great
Wall of China is a series of walls and fortifications
that stretch for more than 13,000 miles.
