The comparative (-er/more) compares two things or people. A
comparative is followed by than.

Ex: My thumb is shorter than my index finger.

Superlative Adjective
The superlative (-est/most) compares three or more things or people.
It compares one part01of a whole group to all the rest of the group.
It’s always initiated by “the” before the adjective.

Note: If an adjective ends in one vowel and one consonant, double the consonant to form
the superlative: big-biggest, fat-fattest, thin-thinnest, hot-hottest.
