Learning Objectives

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Understand the Gauss’s law and apply it to
different types of conductors
• Understand the function of resistances, capacitors,
and inductances in the context of DC circuits and
analyze and solve such circuits
• Understand the relationship between the electric
and magnetic field and its practical applications
• Understand AC circuits and how they differ from
DC circuits

Lectures
Twice a week (Tue-Wed): 10.45-12.30. Due to holidays, some
weeks have a different schedule

Combination of theoretical concepts and exercises/applications

Book: Douglas C. Giancoli, “Physics for Scientists & Engineers

with Modern Physics”, Fourth Edition, special volume containing
chapters 14-16 and 21–31, ISBN 978-1-78447-651-9

Exercise sessions: Not mandatory, but highly recommended as

self-feedback. Mastering Physics

Exam

Two tests:
• May 21st, covering the first half of the course
• June 16th, covering the second half of the course

The final grade, ranging from 1 to 10, is an average
