• identified the basic parts in writing

quality resume;
• prepared a structured resume; and
• written your own resume
• With the influx of applicants looking for a job,
today’s market expects high competition among
job seekers.

• Such tight competition starts from creating

winning resume that can brandish all the
applicant’s relevant skills and experience to
eventually get the target job.
• As a fresh graduate who is looking for
an entry-level position, lack of work
experience is not a problem.

• Proper and effective pitching of yourself

in your resume is the key!
What is a Resume?
• A resume is a short-form document that provides a
prospective employer a concise overview of your previous
skills, roles and academic details.
• The word resume is a French word which translates to
“abstract” or “summary”.
• In other literature, resume and CV are interchangeably used.
• However, other authors find a narrow distinction between
the two.
• A CV, is a Latin for “a course of life”. It is typically longer,
more detailed document focused largely on academic
research and coursework.
Two Distinct Types of Resume

Type Definition
Functional A functional résumé allows you to focus on
your skills when you do not have previous
work experience to highlight.
Reverse The chronological style résumé follows your
Chronological work history backward from your current job,
listing employers, dates, and job
responsibilities. This is the format you would
most likely use if you are new to the workforce
and have limited experience.
Basic Components of a Resume
1. Contact Information
This is found on the header of the resume which includes your name,
address, contact number, e-mail address, LinkedIn account, and a 2x2
‘formal’ picture. Emphasize your name by rendering in boldface and
increasing font size. The name must be larger than the address and contact
details.

• It can be sent through the internet and can be
stored, sorted, and searched at a minimum cost.
• These online templates are offering you extraordinary
layouts and graphic designs that make your resume
stand out and effortlessly land a job faster. Among these
websites are namely:
1. canva,com
