Farming activities

Introduction
We can see many diversities in our lives. We see how
living in different regions have an effect on the work
people too. There are different ways in which people earn
their livelihood in villages but in bigger town and cities
people have more opportunities. It has more than million
people living and working here. Every citizen needs to
take part in the activities that take place in our families,
neighborhood, schools, society, etc.
Farming
Agriculture or farming is the
practice of cultivating plants and
livestock. Agriculture was the key
development in the rise of
sedentary human civilization,
whereby farming of domesticated
species created food surpluses
that enabled people to live in cities.
Why is farming important?
Agriculture can help reduce
poverty, raise incomes and
improve food security for 80%
of the world's poor, who live in
rural areas and work mainly in
farming. The World Bank
Group is a leading financier of
agriculture.
Non Farming
Non-farming activities include
handicrafts, small-scale
manufacturing (both domestic
and non-domestic), construction
mining, quarrying, repair,
transportation, community service,
and so on. Types of work in the field
of Non-farming activities can be divided into three
categories: Regular work, Self-employment, and Casual
employment.
Why is Non Farming?
Non-farming activities do not rely

on farming for livelihood. These activities

are pivotal for establishing a market in

rural and suburban areas. These activities provide employment opportunities


for landless workers. Non-

farming activities include

dairy, transporting, agro-processing, etc.
