He gained national recognition in high school for his spectacular playing at Lower Merion High School in Pennsylvania. Bryant was drafted directly from high school to the NBA, becoming the first guard to do so. Over his 20-year career in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers, Bryant achieved numerous accolades and awards, cementing his status as one of the greatest basketball players of all time before tragically passing away in a helicopter crash in 2020.
