 About the project

“Cleaning and fish stocking the Iskar Reservoir” is an initiative designed to take a step further in
overcoming the challenges of preserving the biodiversity of Iskar Reservoir and enriching one of the
places where fishing is officially carried out.
 Project Description and Justification

The purpose of the project is to address the problems of pollution around the
Reservoir and the declining number of fish. The value of the project is added from
significance of the Iskar Reservoir as an emblematic spot, used for water supply and
electricity production. Moreover, it created favorable conditions for fishing, resting,
walking. The following three objectives are formed in that regard:
- Contributing to restoring the eco-equilibrium of the Iskar Reservoir;
- Cleaning a section of it so that the place would be more pleasant for fishing, walking,
and resting;
- Spreading awareness that will lead to reducing the contamination.
The direct beneficiaries of the project are hobby fisherman, tourists and the indirect ones
are the municipality and the sponsors.
 Problem
The project proposal is directing the indicated problem of declining fish in the Iskar
Reservoir and occurred contamination. In addition to being important to the water supply
and electricity production, the Reservoir is also a favorite fishing spot and a place where
people go to rest surrounded by the beauty of the nature. That is why the environmental
protection of it must be a responsibility of every citizen.

• Regular reports on the progress of the organization of the event as stated in the action plan.
• Weekly meeting for sharing updates and once a month report which will be summarizing what is done so far
and that is left, are we on schedule and within the budget.
• In addition, performance reports would be done by the PM so that to compare what is expected to be
achieved and what is achieved.
