Everyone has their day to day clothes


that they wear to feel comfortable but
today we will be looking at some
traditional dresses of the Bajan people
Food
The National Dish of
Barbados is Cou Cou and
is made with cornmeal and
okra or breadfruit and
plantains. The dish is
normally served with fried
flying fish and spicy
gravy.

Our
Flag
The blue in the Barbados flag
represents the sky and the sea. The
gold represent the sand on the island’s
beaches and the symbol in the middle
is a broken trident. This trident
represents the mythical sea god
Neptune and the trident is broken
because it signifies how Barbados
Barbados was first inhabited by
the Arawaks and the Caribs.
Then it was first colonized by the
Portuguese 1532-1620 then later
conquered by the British from
1625-1966. Said to be claimed by
King James I of England.

roles in positively changing Barbados life as
we know it. On April 28th of each year
Yesterday was our 54th
Independence. We gained
Independence on November
30, 1966
