Conclusion
The Second Language Personality consists of mastering the verbal-semantic code of the language
being studied, that is, the “linguistic picture of the world” of native speakers and the “global” picture
of the world, which allows a person to understand a new social reality for him. The development of
the student's second language personality traits that make him able to be an effective participant in
intercultural communication is the strategic goal of teaching a foreign language.
Reading is one of the most important speech activities. Reading, like any other form of written or oral
communication, requires a great deal of practice, so students should read as much as possible. The
textbook package is only the required minimum, in addition to which independent reading books
should also be involved. While reading independently students should draw extensively on their
speech experience. Particularly important is the guesswork that exists objectively in human thought
activity and, in most cases, is supported by context - linguistic and semantic (explicit and implicit).
It is important to remember that reading acts as a means of forming a second language personality in
foreign language lessons. Therefore, students need to read as many texts of different scientific styles
as possible: literary-fiction, popular science, scientific and newspaper-publicity.
As a conclusion we can say that various literary texts create great opportunities for the formation of
the second language personality through the accumulation and clarification of knowledge about the
culture of the country of the studied language, including knowledge of history, geography, literature,
etc.
