RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

Punctuality is very important to students and essential to the everyday lives of people.

According to Odell (1923), regular students may show a much better academic performance than
irregular students.

Weinstein and Mignano (1993) described that it is quite essential for teachers to serve and maintain
discipline to achieve educational goal with proper command and control of the whole class.

According to Sultana et.al.(2013), time management and punctuality among students are the important
issues that draw the attention of many researchers as good time management is essential to success for
students at school in general.

According to the study of Thierry et.al. (2018), the majority of respondents are having time
management problems in terms of late entrance into class after breaks. The study shows that students’
own behavior is the largest contributor to time management.
METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN

The researchers used correlational research

because it determines the relationship of the
dependent and independent factors of punctuality
and explore its implications for cause and effect.

The type of method that the researchers will be

using is simple random sampling.
METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH RESPONDENTS

The respondents of our study are 50 randomly

selected students from HUMSS 11 and 44
randomly selected students from TVL 11 enrolled
in Sibulan National High School S.Y. 2022-2023.
METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT

When the resources needed for the study were

available, the researchers made use of the survey
questionnaires to conduct research to gather the data.
METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH PROCEDURE

Before the researchers gathered all the data result, the

researchers informed Mrs. Winda O. Obedencio to ask for
permission to conduct a survey in Senior High School.
Moreover, the researchers made an improvement to the
survey questionnaire. There are 9 items in our survey
questionnaire to be distributed to the researchers’ 94
respondents in HUMSS 11 and TVL 11. When permission was
approved by the teacher in charge to conduct the survey, the
researchers made use of the survey questionnaire to gather
the data in finding out the result.

CONCLUSION

The researchers concluded that punctuality has

a great impact on a student’s learning
performance. There are negative effects of
punctuality, but this study shows that students
have a good performance with punctuality
present. Therefor, punctuality is needed and
should always be present in school to have better
learning performance within the school premises.
RECOMMENDATION

 The researchers recommends that students should practice

managing their time right.
 The researchers recommends that parents should observe their children
and assist them to be punctual at all times.
