● Once the lights went out for the first US
screening of Toy Story on November 22,
1995, audiences were pretty excited.
COMPUTER ● Toy Story has been made by Disney
Productions and a fairly small company
ANIMATED FILMS ●
called Pixar.
Therefore, the Toy Story writers made a
friendship tape between Woody, a toy
cowboy, and the other toys.
● You could hear them, however in Toy
Story (1995) you couldn't see them.
● Initially, the heads of Disney Productions
thought that both main characters,
Woody and Buzz Lightyear, were not
likable enough. But kids and adults alike
loved both characters, and Buzz and
Woody's story continued in 3 more
sequels.
● Toy Story also inspired other filmmakers
to make digitally animated films.
LIVE-ACTION FILM
● With special effects becoming more sophisticated in the 21st century, the demand for
PC-generated animation is endless.
● Disney Productions made the decision that it was time to update its traditional
● From the jungle book to the digital age. This is now one of the review's most successful
live-action remakes to date.
● The tape is not just an updated version of the quite precious Disney traditional. The
characters are darker, less likeable, and undeniably scarier than the lovable characters in
the cartoon version. The public that sees The Jungle Play not only sees animation, it is
also a live action film.
JAPANESE ANIMATION
Anime originated in Japan around 1917, and it’s a special form of animation.
Anime characters usually have large eyes and they normally show exaggerated
emotions. Unlike Western cartoons, anime is popular with adults as well as
children, and is watched by millions of people of all ages. Japanese animators
were influenced by the success of Walt Disney's Snow White and they produced
The Tales - the first anime on TV - in 1960. Most of the successful Japanese
comics have been made into anime films.
The Tales is about a girl who dreams she is a boy living in Tokyo and a boy
who also dreams he is a girl from a rural town he has never visited. When the
girl (in the dream, who is a boy in real life) makes a wish to leave her
mountain town for the busy city of Tokyo, they swap bodies and become
connected in a very strange way.
