What is Change?
 Change is a movement out of a current state (how things are today), through a
transition state, and to a future state (how things will be done). 
 No organization can afford to stand still. There are always new challenges to meet,
and better ways of doing things. However, every change you need to make should
be planned and implemented with care, otherwise it could end up doing more harm
than good !

 That's where change management comes in. It's a structured approach that ensures
changes are implemented thoroughly and smoothly – and have the desired impact.
What is Change Management ?
 Change management is about supporting people through their individual transitions.
Change management is necessary because organizational change —moving from an
organizational current state to an organizational future state —ultimately impacts how
people do their jobs.

 Change management is defined as the methods and manners in which a company describes
and implements change within both its internal and external processes.
 This includes preparing and supporting employees, establishing the necessary
steps for change, and monitoring pre- and post-change activities to ensure
successful implementation.

 Change management is a broad term used to define various ways in which an


organization prepares and implements change. Most change management
implementations focus on how employees accept and adapt to a new way of doing
things. Whether the change is simple or complex, the primary aim is to ensure the
implementation moves the organization closer to its objectives.

1. Developmental Change: 
This type of change can include any improvement on existing operations
within a company.

o Examples of developmental change include:


• improving existing billing and reporting methods
• updating payroll procedures
• refocusing marketing strategies and advertising processes.
2. Transitional change: 
Transitional changes happen when a business makes a transition into a new state
of being.

◦ Examples of transitional change include:


• creating new products or services
• implementing new technology.
• when one company merges with another.
3. Transformational change: 
This is the most drastic form of change within a business and is when a
company decides to completely revise its current way of doing things.

◦ Examples of transformational change include:


• implementing major strategic and cultural changes
• adopting radically different technologies
• making significant operating changes to meet new supply and demand
• reforming product and service offerings to meet unexpected competition and
dramatic reductions in revenue.
