INTRODUCTION OF FUEL
SYSTEM

All internal combustion engines need three things

to run air , fuel and spark. The fuel system is made up
of the fuel tank, pump, filter and injectors or
carburetor, and is responsible for delivering fuel to the
engine as needed. Each component must perform
flawlessly to achieve expected vehicle performance
and reliability.
BASIC COMPONENTS OF FUEL
SYSTEM
Basic components of fuel system are:
1. Fuel tank :A fuel tank is a safe container for
flammable fluids. Though any storage tank for fuel
may be so called, the term is typically applied to part of
an engine system in which the fuel is stored and
propelled or released into an engine.

2.Fuel pump:A fuel pump is a component in motor
vehicles that transfers liquid from the fuel tank to the
carburetor or fuel injector of the internal combustion
engine.

3. Fuel lines:A fuel line is a hose or pipe used to transfer
fuel from one point in a vehicle to another. The United
States Environmental Protection Agency defines a fuel
line as "all hoses or tubing designed to contain liquid
fuel or fuel vapor.

4. Fuel filter:A fuel filter is a filter in a fuel line that
screens out dirt and rust particles from the fuel, and is
normally made into cartridges containing a filter paper.
They are found in most internal combustion engines.
Fuel filters serve a vital function in today's modern,
tight-tolerance engine fuel systems.

5. Fuel injector:A fuel injector is an electronically
controlled mechanical device which is used to
inject/spray (just like a syringe) the fuel into the
engine for the preparation of correct air-fuel
mixture which in turn provides efficient
combustion to the engine. The position of the fuel
injectors differs for different engine designs but
usually they are mounted on the engine head with a
tip inside the combustion chamber of the engine

5.Carburator:A carburetor is a device that mixes air
and fuel for internal combustion engines in an
appropriate air–fuel ratio for combustion
