ESP Application Engineering

Dedicated Neck Bypass Clamps

 Dedicated to each ESP neck

 Protect the MLE and control
lines
 Provide Centralisation for
proper cooling
 Provide adequate flow path
 Hold the Bypass tubing
 Not run directly below the
Pump intake

Section 3e Haward Technology Middle East 6

ESP Application Engineering

By-Pass Tubing

 Flush Connections
 Low Torque
 Choice of
• ST-I
• PFJ (Phoenix Flush Joint)

Nipples
 Top Nipple
• Standing valve, to pressure test
tubing and set hydraulic packers
 Telescopic Swivel Nipple
• Set logging plugs
• Set blanking plugs
• 15 inch adjustable union to allow
make-up of By-Pass tubing

Auto Y-TooI - Features

 Outside dimensions as per existing Y-Tools

 Standard logging plugs can be deployed
 Functional at all deviations
 Function testing prior to installation
 Easily redressed
 ESP cables can be deployed both sides
 Can be utilized in Dual ESP installations

Section 3e Haward Technology Middle East 17

ESP Application Engineering

Auto Y-TooI - Applications

 All existing standard By-Pass installations

 Bull heading of fluids while automatically closing off
the ESP from harmful chemicals
 Dual ESP installations do not require plugs to be set
for ESP switch over (especially applicable to subsea
wells)
 Automatic conversion to gas-lift or natural flow of
wells through By-Pass tubing after ESP failure or
blockage

Dual Parallel

 Deployed in 9518” casing (562 ESP)

 ESP’s run in Parallel to boost flow rate
capability of high P1 wells
 Features standard Y-Tool and ESP
equipment
 Auto Y-Tool allows automatic redundancy
without intervention — ESP back up.
 Allows intervention below the dual ESPs
